Do we have a public transportation. LOL
Oh yes we do, but its bad. It's not safe, well not the blue line. No safety and its to crowded. The red line is the best one of all. if you taking the train.

As much as people gripe about L.A.'s public transportation, I've been using it exclusively for the last year or so since my car was totaled, and I haven't had a single problem--- in fact, I decided not to purchase a new car at all! metro.net has a great website, with maps, timetables, and an easy-to-use "trip planner" which spits out all the available routes you could use to get from your A to B. I popped in a major intersection in Sherman Oaks (Van Nuys and Ventura) and one in WeHo (Santa Monica and San Vicente), and it gave me a route that involved only 2 buses ($2.50 total), and about an hour or travel. I say go for it--- it's a great city, and the transportation is great, too. :)

THERE IS NO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN LA! There sorta is, but it's so bad it isn't even worth considering as a functional form of transportation. I **** to say it, but you're gonna have to get a car. There's no other way to do what you want to do. And even with a car, it isn't gonna be easy. LA is far from a commuters paradise.

you can get a student pass from your school
it will cost about 30-40 dollars for a month
or metro also sells weekly passes for $17.00
using public transit just takes some advance planning
to hollywood you take bus to the Universal city station then take
the red line into hollywood
etc
go to the
and use their trip planner for more suggestions

The public transportation system is almost non-existent. A car is a big plus in the LA area.
